Live life to the fullest
The Power of Education
Education creates hope for the future. Giving people hope that they can improve their lot in life is one of the more powerful effects education has on a society. John F. Kennedy best expressed the power of a good education when he said: “Let us think of education as the means of developing our greatest abilities, because in each of us there is a private hope and dream which, fulfilled, can be translated into benefit for everyone and greater strength for our nation.” JFK’s words about America apply to every society on Earth
Step up to the challenge.
Training is like a muscle. It must be constantly challenged or else it weakens, and you fall behind in your knowledge to the detriment of your community. The education and training of directors and co-op members are under greater challenges than ever before. Please take advantage of the resources that MAHC offers now and in the future. Your co-op members are depending on you. Never forget you are not only protecting your own investment, but that of dozens if not hundreds of other members in your community.
Our hope for you
I hope you are filled with excitement as you talk to the amazing people attending the conference. I hope you feel that spark of curiosity and fascination as you attend workshops and meetings, and participate in our many events designed to bring you together to discuss what binds us all together – a passion for Cooperatives. I hope you bring that sense of excitement back with you to your Cooperative and infuse your cooperative with that same passion and fascination for coops that fuels us all. Opportunities like this are valuable experiences for cooperatives across country.
